So, what is CrimsMod? Well, it’s a mod that basically removes Frigates and Cruisers from being built. Allowing for Capital Only games. The idea behind this mod came around while talking with friends on another game (Shameless plug time), Darkspace. One of my friends said he wanted an all capital match, just to see what kind of fun it would be. So I set off to work tinkering with files until this came out.
Thanks to all those that helped with figuring out what files to edit. Right now, the frigates and cruisers are disabled, not the research for them. Hopefully when I get more time, I’ll be able to create new research for just capitals, and get rid of the Frigate/Cruiser ones.
Features:
-Reduced Capital Ship Production
-Increased Capital Ship limit (5000, must research the first level of capital ship limit increase to get.)

I dowloaded the mod and it wouldn't work for me. I put it in my mod folder like the instructions said. infact, none of the mods i hav put there have worked. Do i need the expansion packs to play these? Because i do not have them yet.
I'm pretty much a newb in this game, but perhaps you aren't using the correct path for mods. I wish developers would have more detailed instructions for this in the mod description instead of assuming we were all veterans. In Windows 7, the path would be something like:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Mods-Diplomacy v1.32\<mod_folder_name>\
"<username>" would be your Windows 7 login name and "<mod_folder_name>" would be how you want the mod to show up in the game. Place all the mod's individual folders and files there. This is, of course, for Diplomacy mods.

u have to go to options and then mods and then select it from the list of mods in the games main menu
