The 1.0 version of the remastered version of the original Half-Life 2 mod "The Thing" by Donald (OBSELETE)
The Thing Remaster 1.0
Installation:
-Install Source SDK Base 2013 Singleplayer on Steam and set it to beta - upcoming
-Download the mod
-Place "the_thing_remaster" inside your sourcemods folder (.../Steam/steamapps/sourcemods)
-Restart Steam
Alternative Installation:
-Install Half-Life 2 and Half-Life 2 Episode 2 on Steam
-Download the mod
-Place "the_thing_remaster" inside your sourcemods folder (.../Steam/steamapps/sourcemods)
-Go to ".../Steam/steamapps/sourcemods/the_thing_remaster," open gameinfo.txt, and change the steamappid from 243730 to 220
-Restart Steam

For some reason, my PC detects a possible virus in the file.
Also adding a Steam and a desktop icon would be nice.
If you're using google chrome to download it's normal, for some reason it detect the archive as a virus :c
But thx for your suggestion about the icon i'll add that for a futur version.
One more thing: one of the files "stats.txt" seems to be broken. When I try to extract it, it gives me an error.
that weird, if you're using 7-zip or something else then winrar it may be the cause
When using 7-zip, I could extract it, I don't know why it does that even though the file completely empty.
One more suggestion: changing the mod name in the gameinfo file to "The Thing Remastered" to make it clear that this is not a simple port of the original mod.
