Reworked Arsenal Factions
The idea of this addon is to implement a progression of the type of weapons and ammunition throughout the game, given the variety and availability of weapons and ammunition for each faction. In the first part of the progress, Soviet weapons would be the most common; in the second part, NATO weapons and in the last part, those of the Monolith.
The arsenal of each faction is reworked based on a progression throughout the game, the characteristics of each faction and the vision of the author of the Zone. Added more variety of weapons to each loadout, including some custom variants. Rebalance between the use of assault rifle, sniper, shotguns and submachine guns and machine guns. The armament varies according to the rank, if it is a rookie or a veteran, according to each faction. Now it makes sense to buy barrel replacement and repair kits for all types of guns.
Concept guide for each faction:
- Army: Soviet weaponry from the 1980s and 1990s. Main use of assault and sniper rifles, less use of pump-action shotguns to deal with mutants.
- Duty: 1980s and vintage Soviet weaponry. Main use of heavy-bore assault rifles, machine guns, and shotguns to deal with mutant threats. Added sawed-off shotguns to the pistol list as secondary weapons.
- Stalkers: Weaponry available to civilians and on the black market, mainly Soviet and Western to a lesser extent. Primary use of small caliber rifles, submachine guns, and shotguns.
- Bandits: Black market and stolen weapons, mainly Soviet and lesser Westerners. Primary use of assault rifles, submachine guns, and shotguns.
- Scientists: Mainly Soviet weaponry. Main use of submachine guns and to a lesser extent of shotguns and smaller caliber rifles.
- Mercenaries: Modern Western Weaponry. Main use of assault and sniper rifles, and to a lesser extent shotguns and submachine guns.
- Freedom: Western weaponry from the 80's and 90's, and less Soviet weapons. Primary use of sniper and assault rifles, lesser use of shotguns and submachine guns.
- Clear Sky: Soviet and German weapons from WW2, and Soviet weapons from the 80s to a lesser extent. Varied use between assault rifles, sniper rifles, submachine guns and shotguns.
- Monolith: Modern Russian and Western Weaponry. 9x39, 5.56 caliber assault and sniper rifles and 5.7 submachine gun; 12.7 sniper rifles and machine guns.
Rebalanced assortment of merchants for each faction.
Each merchant sells weapons and ammunition according to his arsenal. If it's a Soviet faction like Duty, it doesn't sell NATO ammo, for example. The poorer factions in equipment incorporate cheaper weapons of more varied origin.
Now the player must adapt to the dynamics of each faction and not wait for the merchants to have everything served as if one were the master of the Zone.
