Star Trek: Armada III begins with the first stirrings of the Dominion War and allows players to take command of five unique factions, the United Federation of Planets, the Klingon Empire, the Romulan Star Empire, the Cardassian Union/Dominion Alliance, and the Borg Collective. Explore strange new worlds, seek out new life and new civilizations, and boldly go where no one has gone before.
This Add-On supplied by the mods own balance editor Draconis adds new options to the Borg research tree making the Borg Similar to the Borg we all see and love in the TV Show. This Add-On will change the playable Borg faction from the default CTA version and will likely unbalance the multiplayer balancing of the original mod
I always want the option of teaming up against a Borg that is the right kind of scary. I also want the option of smashing hundreds of ships with my Borg hammer. Depends on what kind of day I'm having. Good update!
When I move this .rar file to my mods folder it does not overwrite any other files. Is this the right location? Does it have to go in any sub folders? Just dropping the file into the mods folder doesn't do anything.
you have to overwrite the files within the mod itself just dropping it in will not overwrite the correct files you also need to extract the files from the RAR :)
Package Adjusted please follow Draconis instructions below
What does this mod change ? I overwrote the files and have it active but it seems like nothing is different, research cost / benefits seem the same
Basically extract the files and put it in your Mods-Rebellion v1.82 folder. Make sure the enable mod text has these lines.
TXT
Version 0
enabledModNameCount 2
enabledModName "Borg Addon"
enabledModName "STA3-CTA"
And if you want back to stock STA 3 CTA you want to have this in your enable mod text.
TXT
Version 0
enabledModNameCount 1
enabledModName "STA3-CTA"
Is there any way I can check to make sure the addon worked? It seems that nothing has changed...
it still loads the stock game when i do this, ive tried overriding the stock CTA files and using the updated enabled mods text and ive tried having the borg addon folder separate in the mods rebellion folder and the updated mods text together in the mods folder and it still does not work.
When you have both STA3-CTA and the Borg Addon folders in the Mods-Rebellion v1.82 folder, check the EnabledMods.txt it should say:
TXT
Version 0
enabledModNameCount 2
enabledModName "Borg Addon"
enabledModName "STA3-CTA"
If you want to go back to STA3-CTA it is:
TXT
Version 0
enabledModNameCount 1
enabledModName "STA3-CTA"
And if you want to go back to stock sins it is:
TXT
Version 0
enabledModNameCount 0
FYI the enable mods in the rar refers to the old star trek armada not CTA. If anyone is having difficulty you can update it.
TXT
Version 0
enabledModNameCount 2
enabledModName "Borg Addon"
enabledModName "star-trek-armada-3"
That is why I also put it in the comments. The new file does not have this issue. Since I usually work with the dev mode which has a different name for me. so make sure you have this in your enablemods text:
TXT
Version 0
enabledModNameCount 2
enabledModName "Borg Addon"
enabledModName "STA3-CTA"
awesome thanks!

Thanks for this addon! Something this something I have been missing and was so grateful for when it appeared in the news window like a gift from God lol.

Is there supposed to be a difference in the Trapezoid with the mod enabled? Was trying to check the differences and checked it's stats without the addon, then with the addon and there was no change in it's base stats.
I seem to be doing something wrong, because even though I believe I'm following the instructions, I can't see any changes in the Borg research tree.
Here is what I am doing:
1. Extract the Addon with WinRar.
2. Copy the "Borg Addon" folder to the /Mods-Rebellions v1.82 folder. This puts two folders in the Mod folder. There is the STA-CTA folder and the Borg Addon Folder.
3. Change the EnabledMods file to contain this text:
TXT
Version 0
enabledModNameCount 2
enabledModName "Borg Addon"
enabledModName "STA3-CTA"
But when I start up the game and play as the borg, nothing changes in the research tree.
What have I done wrong?
Thank you.
Bump. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? For me the Borg seem to be exactly the same. What am I doing wrong? Thank you.
Just had a few hours ingame the the new borg, really liking the new balance (15 cap slots is far more realistic than 9) though i think i made a mistake putting all the AI on Legendary :P
borg are nearly unstoppable... had myself and two other ai's we got wupped then i beat 3 hard ai's as the borg oosh
Any plans to update this?
I know you all probably have other things to do, but I quite liked this and would like to see it return for 1.2.
does this mod work in 1.2?
so I guess this does not work with 1.2, put the mod in teh folder and neither worked. Even tried to turn them on while in game and it just dumped lol
never mind it not working with 1.2 , it does work, the enable mod text that came with this was off, enabledModName "STA3_CTA_1.2" was changed to enabledModName "STA3_CTA" easy fix and now it runs fine.
Yeah the bottom two addons came out before 1.2, just making sure the new mod folder name is the same in enabled.txt will fix the issue
Hey Draconis, Great idea, but do you have a list of the changes you made? Is this a buff or a nerf? or is it a mixture of both? As I said a ChangeLog would be -> BIG THUMBS UP!!!
Thanks
Hi All
Having played 3 games as Borg with 1.2 I've got to say I found them really lacking... they plod. Yes you could probably with a game, but would it be fun? hmmm
Ok, so having installed this mod... and, Wow just fantastic! The changes are simply obvious coming from playing Borg 1.2. This is a great Mod for the Borg player, fantastic job.
I wish someone would explain some of the Borg capital ship abilities, I'm not saying they are a bit vague, more my lack of understanding.
So many thanks for this Draconis you really did a great job with this mod!!!
Thank you so much for making the Borg mod available, Draconis. I'm one of those twisted souls who greatly enjoys slaughtering every rival with my unfairly powerful, cybernetic fist. Your changes to the Borg are all to the good and have made an already extraordinary game that much more enjoyable. Thank you!
P.S. With the release of v1.3, do you have any plans to update this mod so that it would be compliant with the new patch? I'm hoping your answer is yes, obviously.
P.P.S. I'm sure you get all too many 'suggestions' on what randoms would like included in your Borg mod. I realize this is your mod, not mine, but as another mouthy random, I would like to request that both the Borg fleet size and capital ship cap receive a bump. Maybe a big bump.
does this still work with the new updates?
i will be contacting Draconis to see if he is updating this mod as 1.3 made some changes to the Borg overall :)
I can't wait for the update, hehehe...
Any word?
is this addon still relevant?
Has this mod been updated?
