Voice Commands Instructions (optional):
- First, you will need to download and install a program called "VoiceBot" from here: Voicebot.net. This program is for free and will be fully functional for this purpose. It can also be used for other games as well. There are some limitations to the free version, but nothing that prevents you from using and enjoying the program with this mod.
- After installing VoiceBot, you will need to import the voicebot profile that I included in the mod package. This can be done by going to the settings in the program and you will see a button for importing and exporting profiles. Extract the voicebot profile folder to the desktop or your preferred destination, click import in the voicebot program, find where you extracted the voicebot profile and import the profile inside of the folder. I have also included the sound files for the bugle calls, I'm not sure if the sounds will play in the program without them. The folder can simply be placed on the desktop for quick and easy reference.
- After the profile is imported, I strongly recommend you familiarize yourself with the commands, and if you prefer to use a different voice command to execute an order, you can change it to another word by editing the macro.
- You should also train your microphone to recognize your voice, if you haven't done so already, because VoiceBot relies on speech recognition software that is used for voice-to-text programs, so it may not always recognize your voice, especially if your computer has never heard your voice before.
- When using the program, it is possible to use a built in microphone, however a headset or a separate mic is preferred because it picks up your voice more clearly. You should also make sure there is as little background noise as possible so that it does not interfere with the microphone recognizing your words.
- You can press play to make the program start to listen and press pause to make it stop. You can easily alt+ tab in game to turn it off when you are not in combat or don't want to use it.
- For more detailed instructions on how to use the VoiceBot program, please refer to their website.

Bonus Gameplay Tips
Be warned, the adjustments to troop sizes and the corpse limit, can cause your game to crash, especially on slower, lower end, or older systems.
- To increase battle size: If you would like to have larger battles than the maximum of 150 allowed by Mount & Blade: Warband, then you will need to download and install a program called Warband Battle Size Changer from here or from here. You can experiment with larger battles, but anything more than 300 will usually cause crashes.
- To have infinite corpses: If you would like to have infinite bodies on the battlefields, you will need to download and install a program called Cheat Engine from here. When you start cheat engine, you will need to simultaneously run M&B: Warband. Select "open process" under file, or by clicking the button with a magnifying glass over a desktop screen, and choose M&B: Warband. Then in the empty field under "Value", type in 00861920 and click "First Scan". That address controls what the maximum amount of corpses are before they disappear. Right click and add that address to your address list. Click the address on your list, press enter, type in the maximum amount of bodies you want to have (it will automatically replace the value), press enter again, and then click the checkbox under "Active". Alt+Tab back into the game, and you're ready to play. You must have cheat engine running and that address active every time you start the game and throughout your time playing it in order for the changes to work. Also every time you start the game, you will need to re-enter the value for the number of corpses and activate it.
- To instantly build an army: If you would like to instantly build an army, or even have hundreds or even thousands of men in your party, you can also use cheat engine, and follow these instructions. Having massive armies beyond your maximum capacity will, however, result in morale problems and desertions. It is good for when you want to just jump right in and play, or test out one of the new custom battlefields on your own without needing to rely on AI generals to support you to have a big battle.
- To use free camera in battles: You can use a free camera in battles by pressing Ctrl + E to use the editor camera. (You must have cheat mode activated in your Warband launcher for this to work). Press H after the camera activates to go into the cinematic camera mode, and you can drag the editor panel into the corner of your screen so it is completely out of the way. Unfortunately you'll have to exit this mode with ctrl + E in order to use the order panel; the camera and the order panel can't be used simultaneously. The editor panel will remain in the corner of your screen until you move it again or restart the game.
- Petersburg scene causes crashes during battles. The entire scene will be replaced in the next update.
- Mule trains may still cause crashes for some people. Why this is a problem for some players and not others is a mystery.
- Tournaments are not finished and can't really be worked on without the module system.
- Gunfire sound effects can sometimes cut out when many rifles are firing simultaneously.
- Revolvers will not show up in markets and fixing this requires module system.
- AI controlled armies will recruit too many flag bearers sometimes, and this can only be fixed with the module system.
- AI mesh is not done for every location on the world map, which means AI will still get stuck on things in some places where this is not yet completed. This will continue to be worked on and updated as time goes forward.
- Q:Freelancer? A: Freelancer requires the module system.
- Q: Artillery? A: Working artillery requires the module system.
- Q: New factions? A: No new factions are planned.
mod DISCONECTED in war scence
Hello, can you tell me more about the issue you are having?
The war scene then the game bounced
Which scene specifically are you referring to? Is it one of the randomly generated field battles, or was it one of the sieges?
battle field not sieges
Ok, what kind of enemy were you fighting? Also did you do anything like increase the amount of soldiers and/or corpses beyond the game's limit?
I will need to know the specific circumstances you fought under so I can have an idea of where the crashes may be coming from.
Okay, usually thank you very much, I add add-on mod music, games and play normally.
Which music and game addons were you using with the mod?
mod American Civil War Revived Western Music Mod
We are not associated with the creator of the Western Music mod, he made that submod on his own. It's not a problem at all for us that someone wants to make a submod, but it's possible something with that submod is what is causing you problems. However since I assume it only changes the music, it should not cause crashes if done properly.
Try making a clean installation of version 1.7 and play it without the music submod. If the mod works without crashing, then you found the problem. Also make sure you are not trying to use an old save file, you need to start a new game when the mod is updated.
I may just down Warband just for this mod update to test if I still get the crash during battles
Let me know if it works out for you, always happy to help if you need it.
What I hate is when you are able to build your army up, they just keep leaving and you have to start building it up again. I realize in real life that happens but it sure does take a lot out of achieving a goal.
Yes, morale is a problem. It also has an impact on soldiers running away during field battles. Unfortunately, the only thing that can really be done is to try to improve morale through the game's mechanics with a high leadership skill, high quality food, and victories in battle with few losses to your own side. Native M&B: Warband does some very dumb things in my opinion in regards to morale, which makes having large parties difficult. There are huge penalties for things like having companions in the party, especially if they have personality clashes, and having a large party itself gives a penalty.
just buy and feed them grain
how do i get module system to get artillery i need help
artillery is not yet applied in this mod,
tho it is dream of ours to include one day;
the python module system craetes the coded base for a mod,
which source for this mod was lost long ago.
It will be tedious and take a long time before a new decent source for this mod will get made, i'm sorry.

Hello. congratulations for your mod. It's very impressive. But there are some things that make the experience a little boring.
-we cannot realod our weapon while walking (but NPCs can);
-we cannot kneel to take some cover;
-some things like food are very very expensive;
hi & thnx for ur praise.
we did add reloading while moving and crouching but they don't work as well as supposed to. Indeed the player himself can't reload while walking, and the crouching mechanic doesn't really benefit gameplay, we'd want to have only the first rank kneel, and they/u can only get up when u switch equipped weaponry, f.i. switching to melee and back.
u probably can add crouching urself by adding 'can_crouch = 1' without the accents to the bottom of the module.ini, but the effects r urs 2 consider then.
Tho i fail to see how these would ruin ur gameplay experience.
most of the food itself should be rather cheap, except some luxury items perhaps. Some item prices have been increased to benefit the trader aspects of gameplay, to ensure players can make a bit of money, after several noted it was quite hard to do so.
Most prices, alike of arms and costumes, have been scaled down to resemble the actual cost in that period. A few dollars was a reasonable and high enough price for a firearm, f.e.
Hello, I just want to mention a few things in addition to what Matsuri5 has said.
Getting the player to reload rifles, muskets, and carbines while walking didn't seem to work, even though it works for the AI. The crouching mechanic also resulted in the player and AI becoming stuck in the crouching position. However, infantry in the Civil War didn't crouch when formed into line of battle anyway, all ranks would fire from the standing position. Skirmishers and dismounted cavalry would crouch when firing, but there isn't any way we can program only those units in the mod to crouch while the others remain standing. So, in light of the problems it causes, the inaccurate image of the history it would display, and the lack of real benefit to the gameplay, we decided to leave that feature out altogether.
Just reading the article has got me very excited. It is truly great seeing how far this mod has come!
Thank you, that means a lot to us. Have fun and keep your powder dry! :)
Hi, I am having an issue with the mod. It started off great and I really enjoyed the mod, but now I keep crashing whenever a battle starts. Is there a way to fix this?
sorry to hear so. Perhaps trying a new game, checking ur pc stats too.
Older or weaker systems can have trouble when the engine has to jumpstart all the models and textures and stuff that gets loaded at start of a battle.
i've had it happen that after starting a new game (after fresh game start), playing a short while, the old 'broken' save battle worked again too. U could try.
DOes it crash on some specific battles? Same enemies, same location?
I played the mod for about 30 minutes to an hour and I enjoyed the battles. but it did crash for me ;-; . I was fighting the confederates with a confederate army. it was a field battle against the army of Tennessee. I have unlimited ragdolls and 40 dead body limit. it was roughly 100 vs 80-90.
Maybe it was on my end since my pc is not that great, but since another comment mentioned crashing in battle, I thought I would mention my experience as well.
I was about to get into a melee with a flag bearer behind their lines by myself. and one of their cavalries tried to attack me. when I went to block the cav, it crashed.
Hey glad to hear you like the mod, sorry that you got a crash though. Have you tried fighting the same battle again to see if the crashes are consistent?
Hi there! When I tried to download the files. It only downloads a single .rar file and won't let me extract anything. When I put the file in the modules folder, the game acts like it doesn't exist. Where did I go wrong? Thanks
Well that's weird. Try downloading the mod again, there should be a folder inside the .rar called "The American Civil War Mod Revived", and you can just drag and drop that into your modules folder. It's possible moddb itself is having issues and for whatever reason couldn't make a connection to your computer, and lost the mod's files along the way.
If it doesn't work the next time you try to download it, try again in a day or two. It should work at some point.
game crashes as soon as i enter any battle :(
Please delete all of the mod's files, make a new clean installation, and then start a new game to ensure the problem is not with either the installation or your save file.
i did what you suggested but it still crashes upon entering a battle. i even tried running it with WSE but that didn't help either.
Do you have mounted bodyguards in your party? Someone reported on discord that they were causing him crashes in battles, and once he disbanded them, there were no more crashes.
yeah that did it.
How to install the voice?
Please follow the instructions for voice commands provided in the mod's description, here on the download page. I believe I also included instructions for this in the mod package. If you need any additional assistance, don't hesitate to ask!
list of totally possible things u should add to make dis game beter
1. batles too smal, make it total war like size
2. add 100000 regiments that totally exist
3. make batlefeilds 10x larger becuz it too smal
4. add 100000 more generals that totally fouht during the america civil war
add ta thigns so that thsi gamee not bad
I know you are joking, but just to humor you...
1. Use Warband Battle Sizer, and you can go up to 1,000 soldiers at once. You will crash though. The max you can have in one battle and have the game remain stable is ~300.
2. I wish. Most regiments wore standard issue uniforms anyway, so it's not too much of a stretch to roleplay as whatever regiment you want using generic troops.
3. Actually possible, but will probably preform terrible and will be too large a map for the amount of soldiers that will be present.
4. Would be nice to have some more generals for the Union, to be honest haha. Since the Confederates have three factions opposed to their two, it is a little unbalanced.
For future reference, please don't spam the comments here with satire. You can go on the mod's discord server and joke around. People will appreciate it more there anyway. This comment section is more for technical help and feedback.
i like your mod, also by any chance will this mod will be available for bannerlord?
i've read someone had plans for a bannerlord acw mod.
Probably won't be us, tho.
Bannerlord modding is way more extensive and probably complicated, and a full overhaul mod would probably take ages and tremendous amounts of work. I doubt it will ever see a wide variety of total overhaul mod choises there, but one can only hope.
If they did make a ACW mod for Bannerlord, it is basically War of Rights.
war of rights is already an exellent reenacting online mp fps.
If ever a full-fledged overhaul for bannerlord becomes reality is has the potential to be the best most thorough indepth roleplaying historic acw campaign hd-game ever, with all the factions as armies, sub factions as corps or alike, all the lords and npcs as historical figuers, but to get to that point it surely would take another ten years, lol ;)
the game crash when i go to washington dc
Hey sorry to hear that. Another player has actually mentioned this bug as well, but we still are not exactly sure what the source could be. Since it doesn't seem to be a problem that is reported by many players (only one other report besides yours), I am led to believe that it might be a problem either with installation or some other user error. Are you trying to use any other programs or submods with the vanilla mod?
hi, my game crashes at the start of the battle, what should I do? I really like the theme of the American Civil War
Hello, do you have any mounted bodyguards in your party? Some players report that unit causing them crashes in battles.
Yes, there is
please tell me how to fix it
Don't recruit mounted bodyguards. We don't know what is wrong with them yet.
sry to say, probably check ur rig
older and weaker systems can have quite some trouble when the game has to kickstart all that stuff into motion at the beginning of a battle, and sometimes even during, when reinforcements spawn, when looking around too fast(it has to load what's seen on screen), and the bump can cause ctds on some systems.
Close other programs and unrequired background processes when playing, restart ur game once in a while, check ur ram,
keep graphics options, ragdolls and bodycount low,
is only some bypassing advise i can give u.
