I'm actually pretty modest with my mods, I mostly prefer patches or fixes for bugs that were never fixed by the developers, even if they're just aesthetic. I'm first and foremost a purist when it comes to video games.
I always enjoy a good total conversion too, but some games are inherently more friendly for that than others. Some games that I wish would be modded heavily by a community, aren't. And some games I wish weren't touched as much, are. It all really depends I guess.
Total conversion were always inspiring and awesome, I miss total conversion mods such as They Hunger,The Specialists, Natural Selection, Dystopia, Neotokyo etc.
Those always impress me it's rare in the year 2022 there's ain't much some total conversion but at least you had Starlight, The Core, Peer Review and other!
I would love to see a renaissance of the total conversion modding again ans reviving the golden age just like in the past.
From what I've saw on the modern HL2 scene modding it's more focused in the hl2 universe and it's amazing I like the idea of their respective take on their favorite franchise! I wish there was more total-conversion a-la Nightmare House 2, Underhell and Radiator it would be awesome too!
Multi-player mods are always awesome and their ideas are always unique and nice (Pst:I look forward about DMCR!) :] I hope we would get a revival from that since we had SDK 2013 MP.
I understand that making a total conversion can be hard on source sometimes and it required a lot of works and teamwork. (VDC wiki has a page for that and it's nice to read about it)
What being said I look forward the amazing future of the modding scene :D
Total conversions are where the true innovation is!

I like HD/Graphic Enhancements but Total Conversions are the best ever.
Total conversion mods are the best and I wish there were more of them being made.
Total conversion so I can play more games without actually spending more money.
Total Conversions are always impressive. My second favorite would be unofficial patches/fixes for older games.
Total conversions are nice, but require a lot of team effort and coordination to survive the development process.
I always like the unofficial expansion packs that expand on the story / universe from a fan's perspective.
