The first public beta of Tiberian Revenge. Please read the description before downloading.
WELCOME TO THE FIRST PUBLIC BETA OF TIBERIAN REVENGE
This build of the project will focus solely on getting more eyes and thoughts on the direction it's taking, and helping spread the word that it's happening.
What will this include?
- Full skirmish amd multiplayer with all TS, FS, and TSClient maps playable
- TSDemo 1 and 2, GDI 1 and 2, and Nod 1, 2, and 3B as missions
- A mostly working map editor to mess with
What isn't included just yet?
-Obviously the rest of the campaign missions
-Terrain Deformation, it isn't possible at the moment and probably won't be for the foreseeable future
-Same with cracking ice. It functions as a terrain but not much else
-Proper campaign progression and polish. The missions provided will be playable, but things like load screens, briefings, ect. Won't be complete at this point
-Minor leftover bits from RA2/YR that have yet to be replaced
Things to be aware of before playing!
This, like many other mods for YR, requires a few of the original files before it can be played. These include:
- BINKW32.dll
- BLOWFISH.dll
- ra2.mix
- ra2md.mix
- language.mix
- langmd.mix
Due to the steam update, gamemd.exe won't work quite right. I've included the one I've used as this appears to be allowed by EA now. Do not replace it with one from your recent downloads.
Once you have these, the game will start up to ask for configuration.
- Toggle Power has to manually be set to a key, as it doesn't exist within the game's UI and isn't set to a key by default (I prefer it to be L, next to repair and sell)
- Due to the phobos build containing experimental Veinhole knowledge, it will prompt a debugger before starting a game. Ideally, have your client in windowed mode to prevent awkwardly trying to accept the prompt
- I can't guarantee that everything is perfect. I am constantly tinkering with everything and, as the lovely modders and testers can attest to, I frequently forget to pull or add things before uploading a download. Unless it's severe, it won't be fixed and reuploaded immediately
- Feedback of all kind is ENCOURAGED, please use the appropriate channels for it!
NOTE FOR MODDERS AND THOSE LOOKING TO UTILIZE THIS FOR THEIR OWN PROJECTS:
At this time, the public releases are only going to focus on the project itself, play testing the campaigns, skirmish, and multiplayer, as well as giving proper feedback on the everything. The entire structure and scope of the project is constantly changing and adjusting. Because of this, mix files containing the ini's will be made inaccessible for the time being, but rest assured, once the project becomes more complete, these will be free to access and use for anyone who wishes to use this as a base for their own mods.
