Struggling to choose which is the best improvement, they are really pretty impressive. tho the grenadier explosion is perhaps a tad small? (tho a great animation)

Think I'm gonna say cyborg commando is the favorite.

I think the MG-spread is too much; it looks like a couple of bullets are also affecting the adjacent cells. The picture under Effects where the soldier is attacking the Tick Tank gives off the impression that he's also damaging the repair vehicle.
It looks more realistic, but it's a tad too much. Maybe confine the MG-spread to one cell rather than multiple cells in the animation?

Other than that, I love what you have here :)

I've tested with a single cell effect and trust me, You don't want that.
The effect will cause a 50% chance of the game crashing and in the other 50%, the clutter will obscure the target making the effects look's bad.

While I see your point for the second bit, how does that crash the game? All you're doing is modifying the "explosion"; the game doesn't care as long as the animation is defined properly and exists in the files...

Well the way this effect uses debris logic, and debris has min fly distance unless they are dropped from above, that min fly distance goes over the 1 cell distance you want to have, so if I force the debris to ignore the min fly distance the game crashes.

It really is excessive for a soldier with an assautl rifle. It fits the vulcan tower or the Wolverine with its dual miniguns thou...

Alternatively maybe the cluster tag on the warhead can help combined with a toned down effect.

I made some really cool area damage weapons by combining cluster on both the warhead and... I believe it was the weapon. You get a nice radial spread of attacks.

Burst also lets you do some really fun stuff, not as much as in RA2 but still perfect for a ramp up speed for miniguns for example since only the first 4 or so bursts care about the burstdelay.

Always an outstanding work, a precision on a detail however, it misses the flame at the exit of the gun of artillery.

Just to point some minor detail out here. One main reason why barely any modder does this is because its hell for the netcode and the beginners guide of modding I think it was warns that excessive use of particle systems and debris and other things can lead to desync.

The main reason why Tiberian Sun has such shockingly awful graphics (even for the time) is due to stability concerns in 8 player battles with lots of units.

It is all very awesome thou and not really a concern for singleplayer. I made some really extreme tests in the past with debris and particles and sometimes it works really well its quite amazing what this engine can be capable of.

Well with a 1080GTX and 16 GB on SSD the game runs with 8 players, you just need to use a lower resolution.

But yes this mode is not intended for multiplayer purposes, just look at the balance XD

Also for the rifle effect, the effect dosen't do splash dmg it just looks like it dose.
