Surreal Software is a leading video game developer who has garnered numerous accolades for creating high quality, cutting-edge games.

First receiving critical acclaim with the the 1999 release of Drakan: Order of the Flame, Surreal Software continued its success with Drakan: The Ancients’ Gates in early 2002, both games selling in excess of 250,000 units. Having grown to two development teams, Surreal released The Lord of the Rings – The Fellowship of the Rings later that same year, selling over 1.8 million units.

In March of 2004, Surreal Software released their latest game: The Suffering , an original concept action-packed horror game set in a secluded island prison. Gamers and critics alike have enjoyed this bold new contribution to the horror genre.

Founded in 1995, Surreal Software employs around 60 leading designers, artists and programmers whose passion and ingenuity takes gaming to new heights. Over the years, Surreal Software's technical capabilities have increased, with the advancement of multi-platform offerings, and a proprietary real-time game development engine.

In an increasingly competitive industry, Surreal Software has retained a reputation of success. In April of 2004, Midway Games validated these accomplishments when they acquired Surreal Software as an in-house game studio. By joining Midway Games, a firm with a long and storied contribution to video game history, Surreal Software is poised to make history as well – with many future years of hit games!
