This is the only reputable retro FPS I don't like, at least the console version with terrible universal ammo system. The Build engine version is better but still, not that exciting.
Its got the best exploration of any 2 and a half D or 2.5D combat FPS, with large environments and gradual progression. Where you revisit areas with new items and experience to be able to traverse the environment and continually move to large new areas. Its metroidvania in a FPS almost.
I know all that, I played the thing multiple times. It's still not that fun for me. Hell, even the first Doom with all its simplicity is a much more enjoyable experience.
