I know that I've not ever been active in this group since its inception, however it's nice to see that even after 7 long years it's still active and people are using it. Even if it's small, I'm glad that I've helped form a little community and in the coming months I hope to start being more active myself.

EDIT: tl;dr - Thanks to everyone who is a part of this group for being here and keeping it going. I'm really happy.

Thanks for accepting the request! Looking forward to setting foot into the modding corner and pay the proper respect to the DooM community. About damn time I started socializing around the very game I grew up on already.

I would love to contribute to the DooM community through modding and I would like to know where can I go to learn about modding DooM? I have tried the Zdoom wiki and although it has great information I was wondering if there is a website dedicated to showing others how to create mods?

Update: I've been trying to compile a YouTube tutorial playlist these past few days. This is what I've compiled together so far, it includes some of OFFICIALDOOMGUY's vids, as well as some from ChubzDoomer, and others:

Youtube.com

Feel free to message me here or on YouTube if you find more helpful videos, and send me their links, so I can make this playlist grow and hopefully have more people find it useful.

Edit: This playlist focuses on level/map building. I'm doing another playlist for weapon modding, but that one is still a bit too empty, it's harder to find detailed weapon modding vids.

Realm667. It's a great starting point. Lots of stuff and dev-related goodies. You'll mostly need DoomBuilder, GZDoomBuilder, and SLADE. I've been researching too, lately. I'm excited to give back to this community as well.

Apologies for the long reply, and by now you've probably found a place to help you with modding, but the place I would start looking at first would be YouTube. Look at ChubzDoomer, he does some really helpful and amazing tutorials for GZDoom Builder, I myself have also started a series to help people with modding Doom, although my videos so far are basically just more up-to-date things that ChubzDoomer has already covered, so I'd check him out.
