Dueling techniques for each player:

In this section I will give you a short technique to defeat all the other duelists.

I will assume you just started the game, and therfore have all low level cards, and upgrade as you go.

Simon Muran:

Simon isn't hard to defeat at all, but don't under-estimate him.

If you hold back, he will take full advantage of it, and win.

Just keep attacking him full throtle, and learn your fusions well.

Best Cards Given:

Meteor Black Dragon, Meteor Dragon, Time Wizard, Baby Dragon.

---

Jono 1st:

Jono is an attacker, so if you only just started, watch out for his Baby Dragon, and Time Wizard Fusion.

Don't hold back when playing against Jono either, or he will start making fusions like the Thousand Dragon.

If you don't have cards strong enough for Jono, learn fusions and place cards face down on attack mode.

It's risky, but it will hold him back for a few turns, since he's not sure wether to Attack, and it will buy you some time to regroup your troops.

Best Cards Given:

Meteor Black Dragon, Red Eyes Black Dragon, Time Wizard.

---

Teana 1st:

Tea isn't much of an Attacker.

However you will find she has pretty good defence cards, and defeating her wont be easy.

Well, you will need more patience than anything, as the Duel can take a long time, and it becomes more tedious than anything.

Learn strong fusions and the Guardian Stars to get an extra 500 Atk boost and eliminate those annoying defences.

Best Cards Given:

Mystical Elf, Spirit of the Arp, Dark Witch, Dark Elf

---

Villager 1:

This young fellow is tougher than he looks.

At the start of each Duel gives you the impression he's too easy, but about half way through the Duel makes a comeback and Attacks you with cards of the likes of 1400 Atk.

The best way of wining is just Attack non stop, and don't give him time to react.

Best Cards Given:

Celtic Guardian

---

Villager 2:

This is probably one of the easiest Duelists you will face.

Altough he has pretty strong cards, he's not a very agressive Duelist...

Not much strategy required for this one.

Best Cards Given:

Dark Piercing Light, Ancient Elf, Beautiful Head Huntress

---

Villager 3:

This old fellow has the nasty habbit of misleading you.

He's got pretty good Attack cards and will not hesitate to use them.

At this point you will need to learn fusions, there is no other way.

Make strong fusions and just keep on Attacking.

Best Cards Given:

Dragon Zombie, Kaminarikozou, Crawling Dragon #2

---

Seto 1st:

Seto can be pretty easy some times, but again sometimes you'll find he's a strong Duelist.

Never under-estimate Seto for a second.

He has very good cards for that time in the game, and will allways be challenging for low level players.

Fusions alone wont do against seto, as he can also make strong fusions, and have stand-alone strong cards in Atk and Def.

Only way to defeat Seto is to build a good deck with cards over 1600 Atk average.

Learn to create Twin Headed Thunder Dragon, which is the easiest of the strong fusions you can make.

Best Cards Given:

Ushi Oni, Dark Fire Dragon

---

Heishin 1st:

Heishin is one of the best players, and at this point I advise you to just leave him alone, assuming you started the game fresh.

If you insist in Dueling Heishin at this point, then try to get good Magic cards from other players first, as he's got very strong cards and you will lose.

The only way to defeat Heishin is if you have very good Monster and Magic cards.

Best Cards Given:

Meteor Black Dragon, Wall shadow, Labyrinth Wall, Zoa, Metal Zoa

---

Rex Raptor:

Excluding Heishin, Rex is the first real contender so far.

He can be troublesome, if you hold back.

Rex takes it easy on you, if you attack every turn.

As soon as you place a card on defence, he will take full advantage and start making fusions, including Twin Headed Thunder Dragon... and when that happens, you know you've already lost the Duel.

Make powerfull fusions... and at this point, it would be a good idea to learn the cards Guardian Stars, and become familiar which cards are more advantageous to you in every situation.

Best Cards Given:

Twin Headed King Rex, Crawling Dragon, Kaminarikozou, Uraby

---

Weevil Underwood:

This little Weezel is a very annoying player... he's as annoying in a Duel as he is when he talks.

He has a good duo combo going on, which is very hard to beat.

The Cocoon of Evolution and Jirai Gumo are a pretty good Duet.

Take him out quick, and make sure you have a card strong enough to slash his Cocoon of Evolution... if you don't, the Cocoon will turn into the Ultimate Moth in 3 turns, and then it's all over.

Best Cards Given:

Cocoon of Evolution, Jirai Gumo, Killer Bee

---

Mai Valentine:

Mai is similar to Teana, except stronger.

Mai is a more agressive player than Tea, but uses the same technique of Defence and Counter.

She uses Harpies Pet Dragon for Defence, and then Counters with her Harpie Lady.

To defeat Mai, just use the same techinque as Tea... find a fusion strong enough to slash through her Pet Dragon, and the rest is easy.

Mai ocasionally will use Magic cards, so watch for Traps.

If she does place a Magic card face down, it's most probably a Trap, and it may be worth to play a low Atk card first... in case it is, you will lose the low Atk card and not your assets.

Don't give Mai a chance to use her Elegant Egotist, to create Harpie Lady Sisters.

Also play stratigicaly and place a useless Magic card face down, since she has Harpie Feather Duster, and will use it to destroy your magic cards.

Best Cards Given:

Harpie's Pet Dragon, Harpie Lady, Harpie's Feather Duster, Elegant Egotist, Harpie's Lady Sisters

---

Bandit Keith:

This is where you will find the strain and have to become a much higher level player.

Keith not only has good cards, but also will give you a good challenge.

It's probably a good idea for you to Re-Build your deck, and place a lot of Dragon and Thunder cards in it to create Twin Headed Thunder Dragon... Assuming you don't have Meteor Black Dragon, or Red Eyes Black Dragon.

Keith has very high Atk cards like Zoa, and will have no mercy over you.

Don't give keith the chance to create Metal Zoa, using his Metalmorph, otherwize not even Twin Headed Thunder Dragon will save you... unless you have an Equip card.

Keith will also use Equip cards like Machine Conversion Factory.

Try to get Bad Reaction to Shimoshi from Villager 2, and the result of the Equip card will be inverted, causing Metal Zoa to lose 500 Atk points.

Best Cards Given:

Zoa, Machine Conversion Factory, Metalmorph

---

Shadi:

Shadi is the player that will take it easy on you the most.

Even if you haven't learned anything to this point, and are still relying on high Atk cards, you can still win.

However, don't take Shadi for granted, or he will teach you a trick or two.

No real strategy is necessary against Shadi, but still play to the best of your ability never-the-less.

Best Cards Given:

Twin Headed Thunder Dragon, Labyrinth Wall

---

Bakura:

If you thought Dueling Tea was tedious, then try Dueling Bakura.

The Duels against Bakura are provabley the longest ones of the whole game, since he uses a lot of high Defence cards like the Labyrinth Wall, and the Millenium Shield.

Bakura not only uses high Defense cards, but also will use a lot of Traps and Magic cards.

Use all your best high Attack Monsters with a lot of Equip cards, like the Megamorph, if you were lucky enough to get one.

You should also be able to get some strong Defence cards from Shadi... so use them to give Bakura a taste of his own medicine.

If you have followed my advice and only settled for a deck that contained Raigeki, then this is a good time to use it.

Wait untill Bakura places all of his Defencive cards down, and Destroy all of them in one go with Raigeki.

Bakura gives a lot of high Defence, and Magic cards... if they are not your style, then just ignore Bakura all together on Free Duel, as there are other ways of obtaining high Defence cards.

Best Cards Given:

Labyrinth Wall, Millenium Shield, and a lot of Magic and Trap cards.

---

Maximilium Pegasus:

Pegasus is way on another level, and just like Keith will have No Mercy.

He has the Meteor Black Dragon on his Deck, and he plays it more often than not.

If he senses any weakness from you, he will chew you up and spit you out.

Get a Trap card from Bakura or Isis, like Widespread Ruin, and use it against his Meteor Black Dragon.

Alternatively, use the Swords of Revealing Light in combo with Raigeki.

Pegasus does not rely on Meteor Black Dragon alone though, he also has many other good cards like Bikuribox, and ocasionaly will play Magic and Trap cards too.

Best Cards Given:

Meteor Dragon, Bikuribox, and a few Magic and Trap cards

---

Isis:

There are strong Duelists, and then there's Isis.

She will make a fool out of you, and here is where the real test begins.

Her Magic and Trap cards Technique will leave you mouth open and in disbeleif.

She has the Black Skull Dragon, which alone is almost impossible to beat at this stage... but she also uses a lot of Traps and Magic cards, reducing your chances to win from 10% to 1%.

But don't despair... where there's a will, there's a way.

You will need the following cards... Bad Reaction to Shimoshi, either Fake Trap or Widespread Ruin, Swords of Revealing Light, Raigeki... if you don't have them, go duel the villager 2, Shadi, Mai, Bakura and Pegasus in defence modes to get a lot of Magic cards.

Use the Trap cards against her Black Skull Dragon, and use Bad Reaction to Shimoshi, because she will also use a lot of Equip cards.

Use Swords of Revealing Light and Raigeki combo.

Try not to play your best cards at first, since she will use a lot of Magic like Shadow Spell against you and reduce your cards Atk factor.

Only use your best cards when the moment is right.

Use all the skills you have learned so far againt Isis, you will need it.

Best Cards Given:

Shadow Spell, Summoned Skull, Widespread Ruin

---

Kaiba:

As you can imagine, kaiba only relies on strong Atk cards, and his Blue Eyes White dragon.

Once you have penetrated his White dragon, the rest is easy.

Again, use Equip cards with your Twin Headed Thunder Dragon Fusion, and use Traps and Magic cards to stop or decrease his Monsters atk factor.

Best Cards Given:

Theone #2, Darkfire Dragon, Blue Eyes White Dragon (Very Rare)

Mage Soldier:

This guy is just average, so you wont find him very hard to beat.

Don't under-estimate him never-the-less.

He uses a lot of strong Atk cards, but he should be easy at this point.

He uses fusions and combos like the Jirai Gumo and Metalmorph to create Launcher Spider.

He also has high Def cards like the Labyrinth Tank... but it's nothing you shouldn't be able to handle.

Best Cards Given:

Labyrinth Tank, Metalmorph

---

Jono 2nd:

If you shouldn't under-estimate Jono the first time, you shouldn't definetivelly do now.

Although Jono's strongest card is the Red Eyes Black Dragon... Jono's average cards are in the likes of 1800 Atk, like Flame Swordsman... and he also does a lot of Fusions to make them even stronger.

Jono has a pretty good deck at this point, and you should not take him lightly for one second.

Best Cards Given:

Red Eyes Black Dragon, Garoozis, Flame Swordsman

---

Teana 2nd:

Tea's Deck and technique hasn't changed much, for a couple of exceptions.

She now has a few strongest cards, but still easy as before.

Best Cards Given:

Spirit of the Arp, Mystical Elf

---

Labyrinth Mage:

This guy is provabley the best Duelist so far... at this point of the game.

He has the Gate Guardian, which is the second strongest card in this game... and he uses it often.

The good thing is that you should have Meteor Black Dragon by now, and you can get a 500 Atk boost by selcting Sun as the guardian star; which will boost it's Atk to 4000.

He also uses Sword of Darkness, which will boost Gate Guardian's Atk to 4250, so use your Bad Reaction to Shimoshi as advised before, to reverse the effect of the equip card, and also use Swords of Revealing Light, and Widespread Ruin.

Best Cards Given:

Gate Guardian, Labyrinth Wall, Millenium Shield

---

Ocean Mage:

This guy has a very balanced deck... and it can be troublesome.

He first plays the Terrain card Umi to convert to sea.

This not only gives him a huge advantage to his monsters, but also to the whole match it self.

He plays Neptune cards, so then you play Pluto to gain advantage, except then he counters with Uranus.

If you play Neptune cards, then he counters with Pluto.

So basically, you will need the following cards.

Neptune, Pluto, Uranus, Saturn.

Make sure though that the Saturn cards aren't Fire attribute, or they will lose a lot of their Atk and Def factors.

The technique involves mostly you having a balanced deck to counter every attack he makes.

Also would be a good idea that you would have Swords of Revealing Light, and the terrain card Wasteland, which will reduce his card's attack and defense factors, and for defense have Labyrinth Wall.

The you can plan a counter attack.

Try to use Twin headed Thunder Dragon here but don't use Mountain Terrain, as he also uses that card.

Best Cards Given:

Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon, Labyrinth Wall.

---

High Ocean Mage:

This one is just the same as the low Mage, except a little tougher, as he has all the best Sea related cards.

Just use the same technique as the low Mage, except give it your best.

Best Cards Given:

All Strongest Sea related cards.

---

Mountain Mage:

This guy has some pretty good cards, including Black Skull Dragon, Twin Headed Thunder Dragon, Crimson Sunbird, and lots of other Winged Beasts and Dragon monsters.

He will first play the Mountain terrain card, and when that happens, he can be hard to beat.

The technique here is just have a few high defence cards, like the Labyrinth Wall, and change the terrain to Wasteland... or you can also use the same with Millennium Shield and convert the terrain to Meadow.

Then use some Magic cards to deplete his card's attack, and wipe him out.

Best Cards Given:

Lots of Dragons, Thunder and Winged Beasts

---

High Mountain Mage:

This dude can be really annoying... and he is relentless in his attacks.

He keeps coming out with the best Dragon cards in the game, as you can imagine.

Just throw him a lot of Trap and Magic cards to destroy his assets, and then retaliate will all you've got.

Best cards Given:

All Dragon cards, High Defense cards like Labyrinth Wall and Millennium Shield, and some magic
