This is by far the most underrated MOD i have come across. The overhaul of the recruiting and training system is very balanced and a nice new touch to the game. the diversity of weapons and armor that this mod brings is my favorite so far. Nothing feels overpowered its balanced all around. polearms destroy cavalry, swordmens destroy polearm, and cavalry destroy swordmens. the AI in battle is smart so DO NOT CHARGE YOU WILL GET ANNIHILIATED. When you pick up a new companion it feels significant because they are harder to come by. Building relations with lords is also a little more significant. oh you have 35 relations with this lord and want him to support you over someone else that he already supports when it comes to getting a fief? good luck. you better be buddy buddy with him and have that mans back. another aspect that i love is that the kingdom balance each other out. they declare war and make treaties when it makes sense. oh romani is kicking rasennas butt well the keltois now have a non agressive pact with rasenna and it leads to defensive pact and the romans back off. Oh the romans have taken 2 cities from safanim? now safanim rasenna and keltoi have defensive pact. Although yes the romans eventually take over its a slow and gradual process that takes a long time a lot of resource and a lot of lives of soldiers. The bandits are also another topic i wanted to touch upon. the diversity of bandits in this mod is again my favorite out of every mod i have played. at first i was bummed out that illyria didnt have a faction but then i found the illyrian bandits and got my butt whooped. 10/10 experience. all in all this mod is the most solid and unique historical mod in my opinion out there. it is a balanced and complex yet easy to learn mod taking place in a somewhat unknown yet tumultuous era of early roman history. Will you go the course of history and have the Romans be triumphant over its neighbors and the celts in northern italia? Will you swear oath to Rix Brennox and help the celts sack Rome like they did 87 years prior? Will you help the great king of Epirus contest Rome and the Italic-greco city states? will you unite greece under makedonian rule again after 23 years of chaos and division? will you help the greek league keep its independence and eventually conquer all the greek states one by one from greece to italia? the choice is yours! One last note. Don't be bummed out that carthage is not in the game. Do a little history on Agathocles the tyrant of Syracuse and understand that Carthage would just be getting pounded by this man. He is a worthy adversary I assure you. I know I know i posted this in the summary page but realized that the only way this mod can get recognition is to give it a review.
