A Clash of Kings (Game of Thrones)

Mod review

Despite small improvements since the early days, there are still major issues. Same mistake made here as with several mods, everyone has too much armour making swords useless and maces the only way to do any damage above 5 per swing. Scenes have been flip flopping since forever and the tavern of King's Landing seems to change every single version. Quests are fun for a short time until you realise they're just distractions from the fact that everything is static with no option otherwise (World of Ice and Fire at least gives you the option of turning that off). Armour penalties and strength requirements basically mean you'll be wearing cardboard armour for the entire early game and most of the mid game while also locking out decently armoured archer characters.

All in all, while it is a decent enough mod, it still clearly needs work and could use a lot less flip flopping on the part of the dev.

A World of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones)

Mod review

While I will happily say that this mod is better than ACOK, it does still have its issues.

I feel that it's a tad too hard to get the mercenary troop tree in your army, being restricted to only a few Qohor villages. And sometimes when you try to cross a river over a bridge your pillock of a PC will insist that there isn't one and that we simply have to go the long way round. Some questlines are either incomplete or bugged (Beyond the Wall for me, though that may be a lack of persistance on my part). And a final personal note, keeping the Brytenwalder bur the dead options is nice for roleplaying, but it means you'll have to fend off wave after wave of Dothraki and Robber Knights every time you fight a battle. Speaking of which, the Robber Knights are imo far too powerful to be the first real mobs you find outside the starting city of King's Landing.

Other than that I still enjoy it and it's very well done. I just wish you hadn't taken out the Find Items function in the Cheat Menu, I often use it to just browse what the modder put into the game or find quest items that I've managed to missplace so it being removed causes more problems for me than it fixes.

Gekokujo - Daimyo Edition

Mod review

Wonderful mod, leagues better than the original Gekokujo imo. A few bugs here and there (like the banners on the backs of units sometimes losing their textures) but with steady updates its turning out great. And also the animations make it a ton of fun since many of them are from Shogun 2 and give the units and yourself a bit more personality
