I just think the method by which Wuut's mod does it is a bit hacky and could be spread out quite a lot / update only a small chunk at a time to avoid the lag spikes

As one of the other comments on the 2nd page says, once you "taste" the zone like this its hard to go back to playing without it again, which is why I had updated it in the first place, but it does definitely need to be rewritten.

New update in the works. I won't hit everything on the roadmap listed in the comment above but will additionally add DX8/9 support (minus some features that are computationally expensive), as well as some other fixes.

Rewriting the code to work for another game would be quite the undertaking, since it's pretty dependent on the exact rendering pipeline of anomaly

As a reshade it probably would look like poo too :(

You can change the location of the circles that are used to draw the nvg masks in night_vision.h if that's what you mean

No specific timeline, but by end of year I'm 95% sure I'll have the update ready. I recently got back into modding after a long break due to being crushed under IRL

I believe it will mess up DX8/9 since the script will run but nothing appears on the screen

You have to turn the NVGs off and back on in-game for MCM changes to take effect

If you have very bright nights without NVG then its adjustable in the other video settings and may be impacted by whatever other shaders/weather/reshade mods you're running

Honestly I'm not sure, I just updated Wuuts code to be functional

I would like to make the same mod but rewritten from the ground up and it would fix a lot of the issues

Yeah that may be a better way to do it - have it check and only allow NPCs to die once every x times they step into an anomaly instead of RNG

Something in the install is conflicting then to cause this - it functions properly and Shader Scopes hasn't updated since then.
