Thank you!
No problem, glad you were able to fix the issue. Believe me, technical issues are only easy if you already know the answer.
it's in the Gap. you'll need the key from the motorcycle factory and take it to the Flooded District. from there you can get through the kitchens of the chinese restaurant which will open up a path through the BFB burger place. you'll find the entrance to the Gap on the opposite side of the gallery.
Thank you! Hopefully the wait for Hard Reset will be not too long, as I am on the final tidy-up stage now.
i'll be updating both packs with all the new content added with the Hard Reset expansion, so I will see what the issue is there.
Bear in mind there is also the Sterilized Edition, which cuts out a lot of the RPG elements and just leaves the FPS parts.
We definitely have plans for her. Probably as an Ep3 expansion so she can take advantage of all the new improvements that one will have.
I am aware of that. I left it in originally because I found it funny. But I'll see if I can fix it at some point.
And thank you!
yes there is! If you know how to use Decorate or how to edit with Slade, just go into each PK3, open up the Tesla79.txt file in ACTORS/PLAYER, and find the entries for the bike slow, medium and fast glance and crash actors. Just find the portion that reads A_explode and add a comma and a zero to the numbers within the parentheses. For example, BikeFastCrash should now have this line:
PIN2 DEFGH 1 a_explode(3,32,0).
This will disable all player damage when crashing, but you can still ram the enemies to death. Remember to do the same for all the glance and crash actors. Hope this helps!
Arcade adds more enemies and some ammo spawns but doesn't increase pickup value. Apocalypse is the same but doubles all damage to you and raises enemy aggression to maximum. Hard Reset will be expanding on this by adding Apocalypse level spawns as well.
Don't worry, it will all be in the manual.
Hey this looks awesome!
Great work!
Edit: don't forget, we have an addons tab here. So you can drop it here too when you are happy with a release candidate :D
yeah that part stumped a few people. There is a vent in the kitchen of the chinese restaurant, and from there you open up the rest of the map. But a lot of your concerns we brought up in the Hard Reset article so we're looking at making a tighter experience in future.
But thank you for the feedback :)
Sounds like you've been through the same games and movies I have. I'm boosting the challenge a little for the expansion, so that practice will come in handy.
Thank you for the comments :D
Thank you so much! We look forward to seeing you for the next one :D
Thank you! That's great to know.
Possibly a bug. You can noclip just past it and the quest should resolve. I will see if I can remedy for the next update.
One of our testers has been working on a mod that (as well as a few other late 80s additions) does add the SPAS12, for all your angry austrian, one handed, sunglasses at night action. So i will probably not be adding one myself. Hopefully when it is done we can add it here as a file.
Thank you! We're really happy people seem to be enjoying this thing. Hopefully from here it can only improve.
I asked Retromuffin and she says it's cool so yeah. We've got a spot it can go already.:D
I moved over to Mastodon on a semi-permanent basis. Good to hear from you, and thank you!
I'll see what I can do.
I've never really believed in constantly updating old works. But if it has a genuine QOL improvement I don't see it being a problem.
I believe the_vm is referring to the common phenomenon that many franchises meet an untimely end at their third episode.
Which we are of course immune to as a team.
I'm not planning on adding a battle royale mode and grappling hook until at least the fourth chapter.
While the expansion will be mostly easing back from less popular elements, my plan will eventually be to refine concepts rather than cut or atrophy anything. I definitely want to retain the feel of the original episodes, while making sure they are a much more polished experience. You'll be pleased to know that your thoughts on the vehicles and trading are prescient - I have some thoughts about how I could make both a lot more visual and also responsive. Have plans for a dedicated UI for bartering, especially, as it is definitely a weak area. Speech in general is probably going to get tidied up and made more readable in general.
Fast travel across a map would be difficult but not impossible. I also want to stick to a more semi-linear experience. But will take your other comments into consideration.
Thank you for the thoughts. I have a pretty good idea of where we are going next. But look forward to the expansion where I will be experimenting with a few things.
I'll see what I can do. Other Vostyok is apparently pushing for them to stay. We'll see if we can reach a compromise.
Many thanks to Retromuffin for all her work putting this together, and an additional plug for Snordix who designed the awesome title art:

I will take a look at what I can do with the next update, but couldn't figure it out last time. Controller inputs don't seem to act the same way if it is anything except a mouse or keyboard. Unless I'm missing something.

I make mods. Sometimes I make other things too. We'll talk about those later. No preferred pronouns. There's actually two of us. :p
