Mod adds multiple heroes to the playable pool and provides some solutions to campaign heroes and progress through missions.

Latest version 1.32 under files tab. For normal use, from all files, just copy Data23.orc file to installation directory. Installation details below.

Among new heroes you can meet (again):

  • Deluxe edition heroes: Akasha, Kraal, Yume, Svetlana, Belketh
  • Campaign heroes: Sandro, Crag Hack, Raelag
  • New previously unavailable playable bosses: Uriel, Michael, Kate

This mod in v1.3x is compatible only with latest version of Heroes VI with patch from 19.03.2024. Please note that mod is tested by me only for English version of the game.

Other changes:

  • Broken Alliance map:
    Changes to P6 (on the island), add additional monsters and missing shipyard.
    All Towns can only be converted on the next turn after being captured.
    Locations where you can recruit army within Town zone are aligned properly per starting controlling Faction.

  • Some of the unique heroes have also now unique (end level) stats, like Yume or Belketh, different than normal heroes. The last one should also no longer level up to leadership, as all Necro heroes.
  • Special idle animations appear now randomly for all town recruitable units

  • Mod aims to fix issue with campaign progress not being carried over.

  • Fixes campaign heroes (hopefully for all language versions...)


-- INSTALLATION --

a) After downloading the mod, put Data23.orc file into your game installation folder. If you are using latest version without mods, Data22.orc shall be the last one visible.
b) Go to your Documents, find Might and Magic VI folder and under your profile, delete or backup DynastyData.bin. This may affect your saves!
c) Afterwards you may launch it normally.

* Do not launch game anymore with -offline parameter!
** If launching crashes the game on Dynasty or before reaching starting screen, try to also remove ProfileData.bin. This will reset graphics option, but also resets some of Dynasty progress.
*** Do not use provided .exe file to launch game or try to install mod. It's only there so that you can properly launch map editor using -editor command parameter.
**** If you started campaign without mod, you should start it again after installing it.

-- KNOWN ISSUES with mod--

i ) Michael and Uriel has bugged animation while upgrading reputation (Blood/Tears)
ii) Boss heroes lack the circle under ground indicating it's a hero (correction in next version)
iii) Some heroes biography not translated from English (for now)

Hello! Despite the fact that in my previous comment there were no consequences of the problems described that were widespread at that time, my game still broke a little time later ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯. The most unpleasant breakdown was the replacement of the characters of all campaign missions with Aguirre, and only after a considerable number of checks of various factors, I also came to the reason in the form of changing the language parameter in the regedit for the non-English version of the game. It was this moment that absolutely clearly and strictly broke the game, and I was already upset that no one would take on this, probably due to the intricacies of different language versions of the game, but now I saw your update v1.32, I tried it and it really solves this problem, it's just incredible! I would like to dedicate this part of my message to you as one big thank you!

Additionally, I would like to share observations of some other problems that I encountered while playing:

1. The first thing I encountered was the level and experience of dynasty weapons began to be reset after loading a save (both offline and online), which was equiped on the character at the time of saving. This is not corrected by removing the weapon, placing it in the dynastic weapon list and re-equipping it again, because with this problem the reset experience remains even in the weapon list. Can only be solved by manually correcting the experience parameter in ProfileData and re-entering the game (tested only on Staff of the Netherworld in the Sandro campaign but most likely the same would have happened with any other weapon).

2. When entering the game from the very first day after the patch, I was greeted by a cosmetic bug: the dynasty avatar is always reset from the previously selected one to the base one (Duke Slava). Solved by clicking on the previously selected avatar in the dynasty tab
2.1. In the dynasty tab under the avatar, you can't select a status because there is no scroll bar, due to for which only a strictly limited list of statuses is available;
2.2. When selecting your favorite hero in the dynasty tab, as well as when selecting a hero in a custom match, the hero’s avatars are highlighted with a golden border, as if they were selected (and not all are highlighted, but only partially).

3. I noticed that with version 1.32 you removed the possibility to change the hero's specialization and class. At first I wanted to describe how many things break in the game when you change class (as I understand it, on any version of the game), but I’d better ask, is it even possible to do anything about it so that it functions correctly?

4. When creating a custom match, in the list of heroes you can see a lot of duplicates (3 Sandro, for example). If you don't guess correctly and choose a duplicate instead of the original hero, when choosing dynastic benefits, the hero's avatar will be missing in the first cell on the left (including in the game also), and his specialization will be taken from the base list of non-campaign hero specializations.

I haven't yet had the opportunity to play long enough for me to try out all the heroes, all the weapons, all the campaign missions and all the maps, and also test all possible game scenarios and combinations but everything that I managed to find during my short game, I tried to pass on to you. Thank you again for your work, you are amazing!

Thanks, it's really nice to hear ^^ Yeah, I also noticed later some problems in English version, so for v1.32 I was checking campaigns in multiple languages to make sure it is solved properly. No matter if it's Chinese, Russian or whatever. I haven't of course tested all campaigns in all languages, but hopefully it works.

1. This should also get solved if you enter manual battle normally. I wonder if changing now experiences thresholds could improve it. It used to be overwritten back when it was online by server

2. Looks minor, but maybe UI selection could be look into. It's also possible mod does not handle profile pictures 100% right. I know I noted it down in log on how mod is being created, but never looked into details.

3. Well, I decided to remove change menu so no one breaks their dynasty accidentally. I couldn't find a technical way to make switch work as it used to, that's why I moved other class to second slot. Main hero could never actually change specialization (although I can can for sure change default i.e. give might and magic here a different one). Maybe for some future version I can bring back menu and remove switch, such that you can see specialization.

4. Some are on purpose like there are two different Sandro version, but you are right in general. For example Penelope is for sure twice that I remarked. It's just a lot of entries to control and it was more important to make sure that scenarios and campaigns work so far.

Regarding Anastasya <> Aguirre issue. Having a little time for testing finally I can say that issue for sure affects also mod, not only base game. Although only for localization, non-English versions of the game. I see that game creates Anastasya entry into Dynasty file at the end, at different location, but I don't know proper solution at the moment. Apart from switching game to English that is...

What I noticed in this mod too is that Anastasya was created or recreated in HOMM VI, but does not display in Scenarios and when at least I play Aguirre in place of her the saves of Necropolis campaign are broken. I hope you will be able to repair Anastasya if you will want of course. It's really strange to have male necromancer ( with woman voice ) in love with male angel. Unfortunately I as many others don't have English version of HOMM VI and change in Register Edit in Windows for English doesn't affect If someone can save this game is you. Thanks for everything you do for this game and her fans :)

Hi! You may try the new 1.32 version of the mod. I have only tested it in couple missions and for a couple language version, but it should hopefully solve this issue :)
Unfortunately it's again reset of Dynasty since I had to shuffle order of some heroes to make it work.

Hi the game is also missing Vein campaign hero, could you restore him with this mod?
Besides I found on Steam a list of additional Heroes that could be added to the game like Katsue, is this possible to also add them?

It does include Vein and Katsue already. Also some others. List above is not exhaustive. Not all heroes from steam list are even originally playable, or were set-up as playable heroes. Great example is actually Cate, that does not even have any moving animations, so I chose pseudo-teleportation as replacement.
Honestly, I don't plan to include all possible heroes as in the linked post, since you end up with, in my opinion, way too long list in the current dynasty.

That's great to know. Ubisoft broke some things after the recent patch when they removed online features.
I've got worried when I noticed that in my game some heroes were completely missing but I remember they were in Dynasty from beginning, since I got complete edition.

Greetings! Thank you very much for your efforts and great contribution to the community of currently hopeful players! Surprisingly, after installing the patch, I didn't have a single problem described by the community, with the exception, perhaps, of resetting the level of dynasty weapons, the problem with which was solved by re-equipment (Complete Edition|Uplay). But still, one important thing for me still broke: after resetting the statistics of all battles in the dynasty tab, I also stopped receiving new information about the end of other missions and maps. That is, no matter what outcome I ended the game with, information about its outcome doesn't appear in the dynasty statistics. Tell me, please, is it possible to do anything about this (from your technical point of view)?

Maybe? There are some accessible parts in Action Script of profile menu that relate to recent games activity (and were not update in patch), but AS is not exactly language I know, plus it does not look like game is currently exporting this data. Perhaps someone with flash games dev. experience would know better than me right now :)
