Axanar: Strategic Operations is a mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion that totally converts it to the universe of the recent fan movie Axanar, based on star trek.
TOS Starbase designs are notoriously difficult to find with exception to Starbase 47, K7 and Franz Josephs Starfleet Command. So after a quick brainstorming session with the team and a quick browse at other Starbases especially those designed around the 60's and 70's I came up with this.
Making sure that the Matt Jefferies influence is ever present.
Designed with practicality for docking ships in mind the Supply station can service any ship with the stuff, things and bits it needs. The mushroom complex aside the cone on top is pretty much hollow to allow it to store items of valuable materials.

Would be a shame to not include K7, after all it fits perfect as the trading station.^^
Any news on on the Klingon stations yet? Looking forward to conquering the Federation, and I want to see what my instruments of destruction are!
The Klingon Stations will be started on once the Federation have there stations complete.

I think four would be more appropriate for the time period. As well as a delay to the benefits to having the station in orbit. Every station and ship should have an impact, which is the goal of this game; correct? We are warned of Titans in CTA, why can it not be modified for the ships which will cause us the most focus?
Costs to put a station like this in orbit should be substantial, and said benefits should be within scale. It should take time to make a trade port known. Perhaps have a delay to the income ratio would be realistic?
I realize the the pros V Cons for having things on this scale; is the hardest part of this game. Choosing where and when you spend your money is a pivotal part. I would love to see a 4x game that scrutinized every click that you make. I assume this game being mah new bae :)
This isn't a trade port, it's a supply depot. Logistics are going to play a integral part of ASO's gameplay.
These stations will be large and vital. As such, expect to make a significant investment in time and materials in order to establish supply lines throughout your territory.
They also go bang real good.
