Hello and welcome to the Campaign Collection mod.

Here you can find all the story missions from the Battle for Middle-earth series, updated for the Unofficial Patch 2.02 v9.0.0, which can be found here.

The story missions from the first game have been reorganized into a linear campaign, with four new missions. All campaigns can use the expansion units and heroes. The cut Gundabad mission from Rise of the Witch-king has been restored and polished. A lot of cut dialogue has been restored.

Hope you enjoy.

I always wanted to play BFME1's campaign but preferred BFME2's game mechanics, so your mod is exactly what I wanted!

I've played a couple missions so far, both good and evil, and they seem to be working... but every time I go to start a new mission, it says "MISSING:CampaignName[LEVEL]", and every time scripted dialogue happens or a new mission objective posts, the top of the screen says "MISSING:[some kind of script]". I followed your 6-step instructions posted back on December 3, 2023, so I was wondering if these "missing" messages are typical or if I messed something up? The levels are otherwise playable and the movies are working fine.

Looks like there's a problem with the englishstringscampaign.big file. Does your game use a language other than English?
If you used the method described in step 6: did you remember to put it inside the lang folder? It should not be in the main Rise of the Witch-king folder.

Ah, confound it, I'm an idiot. I messed up the lang folder part! That fixed everything immediately.

Thanks for the quick reply and your patience. Again, I've really enjoyed the mod the past couple days. Thanks so much for the work you put into it and helping people with it.

Does this also keep the pre and post-battle cutscenes, like from BFME2 for instance?

Yes, if you have the original versions of the games, they should work without problem. There are some online versions that remove the movie files to save space, so I have included a backup, just in case. If the movies don't show up in BFME2/RotWK, just copy the data folder from BFME1 Campaign into BFME2 Campaign and RotWK Campaign, and they should show up.

Thanks for the info! I'll be getting into it eventually, but is it any more difficult than the original campaigns due to the added units and such, or is it about the same?

The first campaigns are probably a bit harder, but it has been a long time since I played the original game, so I'm not certain. The second and expansion campaigns are mostly the same as they were, except for enemy heroes using more of their abilities. Balance changes from the unofficial patch might also affect difficulty somewhat.

According to the dump file, this is due to an access violation. From what I have read, it is cause by something in the "My The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king Files" folder in User/AppData/Roaming, but I don't know exactly what. You can try putting the .big file from BFME1Campaign in the Rise of the Witch-King folder and run the game normally instead of as a mod; I have had fewer such crashes this way. If that doesn't work, the only possible solution is to delete the "My The Lord of the Rings, The Rise of the Witch-king Files" folder and re-install the game.
