A lighter version of the fork for maximum compatibility
As of my recent blog i tried to make a Smooth Doom version as "light" as possible.
i used the up to date weapons only version with a "Smooth Doom monsters Lite" mod i fount somewhere on zdoom forums. All credits are in the mod itself , i take little credit for this. It is tested for multiplayer and with multiple gore mods.
This version does not include:
- Smooth liquids
- Smooth decorations
- HD sounds
- Gore
- SSG and Chainsaw gibing
- Black gloves
- Doom 64 weapons
- Altered monster scripts (custom monster events such as chain-gunner ambush on the start of Verdant Citadel will work now )
added credits : Smooth Monsters Lite by Delfino Furioso
P.S. some sprite overwriting could occur with wads that have weapon and monster sprites in them
there's been a small update, i disabled kill counts for lost souls to keep it "vanilla friendly" (mostly for speedrunning).
make sure to re-download it if you care for those changes,(they are optional)
i have found out that you can use monster replacements just like DSDR WO , so i guess it has the same compatibility as the weapons only version, i tested it out on : colorful hell, meat grinder enemies, bdv21monsters.
if you see any bugs, feedback is much appreciated
IT DOESN'T WORK MAKE IT A WAD
this is for zdoom based sourceports
wads and pk3s are just a file compressing format, the problem u might be facing seems to be related to the sourceport of doom you are using, you can freely change any pk3,zip,rar file into a wad but the code inside might not work with the program you are using to play doom
